ICSM 2008: Author Kit Letter (ICSM 2008)

publication in the proceedings of the 24th IEEE
International Conference on Software Maintenance.

The ICSM 2008 proceedings will be produced on CDROMs and
included in the Digital Libraries of the IEEE and IEEE
Computer Society.

The firm deadline for submitting the camera ready copy of
your manuscript and the copyright form is June 27, 2008.

The following is an author kit to help you in the

No hard copy author kit will be sent.

These are strict page limitations and NO extra pages are allowed.



FORMATTING YOUR MANUSCRIPT

Your final paper MUST be submitted as a PDF file and
formatted to IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscript
Formatting Guidelines.  Attached to this email you'll find
ZIP files containing formatting instructions for Word
documents and LaTeX formatting macros.  If the attached
files become corrupt during transmission, you may access
copies at:

Basic PDF distiller settings MUST be changed to:
- optimized,
- Acrobat 5.0 compatibility (at least),
- all graphics at least 300 dpi resolution,
- ALL fonts are embedded and subset,
- Postscript settings DO NOT override distiller settings,
- page size is 612.0 x 792.0 points (8.5" x 11").

Please, note that the Acrobat file must be PDF version 1.4
to PDF version 1.7 (i.e. Acrobat 5 to 8). Acrobat 4 and
earlier files are no longer accepted by IEEE.

IMPORTANT: Authors must check their final PDF files before
submission to verify that all fonts have been properly
embedded and subset.  Some font manufacturers now flag
their fonts to not embed.  These fonts must be avoided.  
In particular:

- Authors must ensure that their PDF contains only vector 
  fonts such as TrueType, Adobe Type 1, or OpenType.  
- Bitmap fonts (Type 3) must not be used because they will 
  reduce the quality of appearance of the document and the
  IEEE Xplore specification prohibits their use
  (otherwise, your paper cannot be included in the IEEE
  Digital Library).

Please refer to the following format when naming the file containing
your manuscript before submitting it:

(replace nnn with your paper ID number)
